North Cotabato Zen Center

The North Cotabato Zen Center welcomes you to the practice of Zen, an ancient tradition that can help you discover your inherent resources of wisdom, love, and compassion.

“The practice of Zen offers something simple, direct and accessible to anyone seeking stillness and peace of mind in this busy, frantic world. When we seek and find this peace for ourselves, we then have what it takes to offer it to those around us. The whole of Zen discipline is to make us come alive to the present. When we are sitting, we concentrate on our breathing. Away from our cushion, we are one with our activity.”

~ Zen master and Catholic nun Sister Elaine MacInnes Roshi

At the North Cotabato Zen Center we view introducing Zen and Mindfulness meditation to the public as a service we offer to the community, regardless of whether or not you decide to continue after your initial visit. Our teaching and methods are focused on two principles: providing a venue for personal spiritual development and familiarizing people with standardized Zen training practices, protocols and etiquette.

We also offer monthly introductory classes, workshop-seminars, meditation retreats, and the opportunity to experience joyful community life. Our Zen Center is open to everyone regardless of ethnicity, skin color, language, age, gender, sexual orientation, physical ability, religion, political views, or economic standing. There is no pressure or expectation to join anything, or continue coming after your initial visit.

The Zen way is open to all who have a sincere desire to try it. We are always happy to welcome anyone who would like to join us.

Interested in Zen? The easiest way to begin a meditation practice and find out if it’s for you is to contact us. Let us help you get started.

Regular Sunday Zazenkai is held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Quintos Ancestral Home, Poblacion 2, Dilangalen Street, Midsayap, North Cotabato.
